Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician has been charged with committing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Details of the Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
