Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and continuing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.
It said debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
